Fruit flies can be such a nuisance to many of us. They have a crazy short life span, taking only 8-10 days going from egg to adulthood, which means they reproduce at a speedy rate. They thrive in moist, damp places, such as sink/garbage disposal drains, and are attracted to fruits and other foods that are fermenting or rotting.
