Coconut Flour

coconut-flour1

Although coconut flour can be just as expensive as buying it already made in the store, there is nothing more satisfying than knowing that the flour you are using is homemade. Follow these simple 6 steps to make your own coconut flour.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Soak the unsweetened coconut flakes for 4 hours. The ratio of water to coconut flakes needs to be such as 4c of water to 1c of flakes.
  2. Using a food processor, process the coconut until it is smooth.
  3. Put all of the coconut mixture into the cheesecloth and squeeze as much as you can. Get all of the water out of it. This fluid is the coconut milk. Refrigerate the coconut milk for use.
  4. Spread the pulp in the cheesecloth onto a baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the over at 200ºF until dry.
  6. Process in the food processor, or something similar, until you have the flour that you need.coconut-flour1
